| Just wanted to post a followup on this. A couple of weeks ago I made a post about a set of Greg D inconel manifolds cracking. This occured just off from the weld that holds the turbo flange. Anyway, Greg suggested that to actually crack the manifold it must of been seeing some very high temps. I thought no way, as the car hasnt seen a lot of use since fitment and the car was tested at 170 compression across all cylinders prior to some retuning for new 800cc injectors. The tuners talked themselves up to being extremely cautious so I couldnt see how that could of occured. Anyway, taking Gregs advice I went back and checked the compression. Bad news. Compression is 125 across most cylinders, at best its 145. Worst side is the side with the cracked manifold :( When I picked up the car from the tuners, it had felt really slow down low in the rev range, I had just figured they had taken a fair bit of timing out to try and fix a cruising problem it was having. Now I know that wasnt the case. So the heads come off tomorrow to start checking for the cause. Just wanted to post this as a followup to say that it appears Gregs manifolds didnt just crack without a cause like I initially thought, but have probably seen some extremely bad conditions at the tuners who were highly recommended to me :(
